I like it how something like this can exist in a city. A skating ring filled with people out to have a good time... I like this photo as I feel it captures the spirit of the skater, the freedom, no care in the world just motion... Moving at the speed of soul...

Except of the ghost(spirit) of the skater... I would say that this is toooo much saturated and contrasted... You should do less post processing... Really horrible colours... But as I see you are novice here... So welcome...

friend i thank you for your comment, acidic as it may be.
the extreme contrast is because i wanted to give it a shadow world view, like a ghost would see the world, and that's either very hazy which is boring or extremely intense which i tried here.
most of the colours are as is with just a little levels and a hue-based blend mode. i like to push colours past the normal limit because it gives them a different meaning. it's like bw, you focus more on the textures than the colours...
while it no doubt could use improvement, especially a crop on the upper side, i'm somewhat happy with it the way it is.
thank you for your welcome and if you wanna see my photos you can check like... eydryan.deviantart.com and this one too... .
btw, i'm not exactly a novice, i've done my share, i've even sent you a comparison photo for you to look at.
well, cheers mate ;)

you know i've got a lot of mixed input of this one. two people told me it;s not so good (the guy above and myself... :D) but some people really liked it a lot. i've even got a few faves on dA for this one... i was going for that extra contrasty style you know, especially to capture the skater shadow and accentuate it. anyway thanks a lot for the input man :)

i really like the oversaturation and high contrast here - it helps to evoke the mood. as you say, a slight crop off the top might be a good idea but it is a wonderful image nonetheless

yeah, i'm just sorry i didn't get around to cropping it before i posted it. then again i didn't see that it needs cropping until it was shining on this page...
