wow i never knew you cleaned a CPU socket cooler like this!
interesting...so were you refurbishing your PC or just cleaning it?

@kairospix: wish i was. it's actually my girlfriend's cooler since her mainboard broke down and i had to replace it. this process is where you remove the old conductive paste off the bottom of the cooler and processor in order to put new (and not the cheap white stuff but the silver goodness) thermoconductive paste on it. basically it's good that every time you remove the cooler from the cpu to clean this paste and apply some new one. makes for a nice and cool cpu and we want that don't we :) just be careful not to bend the pins of the cpu, i did that and it almost cost me a new one...
